William Francis Prideaux (1840–1914)

A colonel in the British Indian Army, W. F. Prideaux served in for much of his career, especially in the Foreign and Political Departments. After his retirement from the army in 1895, decorated CSI, he lived in . His scholarly work included, besides archaeological papers, bibliographies of Edward Fitzgerald (1901) and of Robert Louis Stevenson (1903) (“Prideaux, Col. William Francis”; “Col. W. F. Prideaux”).
