“Lille” [poem]
Insertion symbol (MS IA, g.1)—The symbol directs the reader to move and insert above line 99 (“Colossal form and figure fair”) the couplet forming lines 105–6, which is bracketed in the manuscript (“Those ancient piles rose large and high / In rich irregularity”); see Editorial and Encoding Rationale and Methodology: Element, Attribute, and Value Usage—Metamarks. The lines appear in their revised order in the MS IX version of the poem, and the order continues as such through Poems (1891) and the Library Edition (1903).

Space for drawing (MS IX)—At the bottom of the page (18r), five lines of space following the end of the poem could have accommodated a small drawing, if a figure was intended, or if one was produced but lost.
