“Chamouni”
Unidentified fair‐copy hand (MS VII)—For speculation concerning the hand responsible for this manuscript fair copy, see The Ruskin Family Handwriting: Unidentified Hands—MS VII, XI Fair Copy of the “Account”.

Shineshine (MS VII; Works [1903])—Since this fair copy was not made by Ruskin himself, this redundancy may be a transcription error. In the Library Edition version, the word is amended to “sunshine”.

Full stop (MS VII)—The full stop, which creates a baffling sentence fragment, is perhaps an error in transcription.

Dateline (MS VII)—For the datelines added at the bottom of the MS VII and MS XI transcriptions, and the dating and circumstances of transcribing these texts, see the apparatus, Account of a Tour on the Continent: Drafting the Composite‐Genre Travelogue (MS VII, MS VIII, MS XI).
